Simone

Simone stepped off the plane behind Nine and squinted in the Miami sunshine. They had flown down to attend the birthday party for his record label’s CEO, one of the events of the year in the world of hip-hop. His CEO was a rapper himself and always put on spectacular affairs. Nine had his usual entourage with him in his stretch Navigator limousine for the ride to the hotel. Nine’s cell phone was instantly glued to his ear.

Simone settled back into her seat and put on her sunglasses. Her eyes scanned the limo. Scotty and Trina were deep in conversation, and Papi and Dirty Mike were playing some game on Papi’s PSP. Noah had his head back, arms folded across his chest, catching a nap. When her eyes landed on Lucas, she was slightly taken aback to find him looking at her. When they made eye contact, Lucas broke his gaze and looked out the window. She smiled to herself. Oh shit! What was that all about? Lucas usually took great pains to pretend she wasn’t there. He hadn’t been just looking at Simone. She was pretty sure he’d been checking her out on the down low. Simone was having a hard time keeping the smile off her face. Ooh? A weak moment? Bad boy, Lucas. He should never have let me see him with his guard down. It’s on now. She tried to catch his eye again, to no avail. He stared steadfastly out the window for the rest of the ride.

When they reached the hotel, Nine got major star treatment. He was nice enough to sign a few autographs before they were all whisked up to their floor. Nine put his hand on the small of her back. “Me and Simone are gonna hit the pool. I’m gonna need security in about twenty minutes.”

“You got it, boss,” Noah said.

Simone smirked subtly. It seemed to completely go over Eric’s head that everything Noah said to him was tinged with sarcasm.

Everyone disappeared into their rooms.

Simone changed into an extremely tiny lavender bikini.

Nine was looking at her, practically drooling. “Damn. I don’t think I should let you out of here wearin’ that.”

Simone laughed, wrapping a lavender and pink sarong around her waist. She wagged a finger at him. “I dress you, Eric. You don’t dress me.” He looked as if he really didn’t appreciate the remark, so Simone smoothed things over. She walked over to him and ran her hand over his chest. She put her mouth close to his. “Relax, Eric. Everybody’s going to see me and be jealous of you. They can look all they want, but you’re the only man I’m sleeping with.”

He kissed her and let her go. “You fuck my head up, girl.”

Simone kissed his neck. “I know. You’ve got a huge crush on me.”

He laughed and moved against her.

Simone moved back when he reached for her sarong. “Stop, Eric. You’ll ruin my suit.” She slapped at his hands playfully.

He let her go, still laughing. “What suit?”

Simone knew he was right.
